SALEM Vision Group Appoints New President

The 47 employee-owners of SALEM are proud to announce the appointment of Michael Willard as the company’s new President. Willard brings 25-years of glass sales management experience, the last eleven-years as Salem’s National Sales Manager and Executive Vice President to his new position.
 
As EVP, Willard directed 23 field sales people located throughout the United States and Canada and managed the company’s strategic diversification throughout the past decade. His efforts as a member of the management team were instrumental in successfully steering Salem’s transition from a privately owned company to a 100% employee owned company. Salem showed exceptional resilience through the recent financial events due to sound business decisions coupled with a collective employee owner’s entrepreneurial spirit.
 
As President, he will focus on nurturing the ESOP ownership culture to harness the internal resourcefulness and energy unique to an employee-owned company in expanding existing markets, developing new markets as well as new products. Willard believes the commitment of individual employee owners is vital to maximizing the opportunities of the company for its future success.

SALEM Vision Group Introduces New Anti-Slip film tak™ Advanced Anti-Slip Film

The SALEM Vision Group introduces tak™ anti-slip film. Tak™ is an adhesive backed anti-slip film that eliminates costly slippage and premature de-blocking when edging super hydro/oleo phobic lenses. This new anti-slip film is applied to the outer-surface of the lens producing a stable platform for the blocking pad to securely attach. This interface between lens and blocking pad resists applied forces during the edging process to ensure axis accuracy and to protect the lens from damage due to premature de-blocking. Tak™ is safe for use on any hydro/oleo phobic lens material.
