Heat Soaking Equipment

If you manufacture tempered glass, heat soaking equipment is highly recommended to ensure only quality product goes out the door.  During the tempering process, nickel sulphide inclusions may occur in the glass due to contaminants in the raw materials used for tempering.  The heat soaking process introduces very high and constant heat to the glass for 2 hours or more in order to test if there are any nickel sulphide inclusions in the glass and if they will cause the glass to fail.  If there are substantial inclusions in the glass, it will fail and shatter during the process.  While the loss of product is far from ideal, this equipment will give you more confidence in any tempered glass sold to customers that it will hold up in the field.

Since 2001, the HOAF HEATBOX® has used HOAF Infrared Technology in autoclave free lamination. The HOAF HEATBOX® was specially developed to cost-effectively laminate safety glass with PVB, EVA AND TPU. As with all HOAF machinery, this component is a self-contained modular unit designed for “plug and play” installation.


The versatile HOAF HEATBOX® is capable of laminating all types of glass, thicknesses and shapes, even products like acryl or polycarbonate. Using different interlayer’s like fabrics, woods and metals presents the freedom to create glass solutions with added value.

A unique advantage of the HOAF HEATBOX is that it can also be used for the heat soak test (calibrated to the EN 14179-2005 standard.)
